Introduction

The main objective of this roundtable is for A*Star SIMTech to seek better understanding of the sector and to extract, collect and harmonize workstreams that matters to the Maritime and Shipping Industry for research and development collaboration.

There appears to be a vacuum today, between the different industry bodies, in addressing opportunities and the underlying standards required to digitize the maritime and shipping supply chain.

As the world changes around us with rapid technological development, customers and suppliers in the maritime supply industry need to make use of technical and digital opportunities, to streamline its supply chain including delivering supplies and services to vessels in port in a wider interest. Efficiencies do not only counter the constant cost pressure but also aiming at enhancing safety and reliability for stakeholders involved.
